SIRI - Can i resist this !!!

I am an android guy …. but for the first time I want to have an IPhone in my hand.
Just because of 1 little (big) improvement from the Iph 4 - SIRI. The intelligent assistant embedded into the 4S. Many ‘tech’ websites are gaining a lot of traffic just by finding answers to all the silly questions one could ask this new friend. Believe me there are enough to amuse you for a weekend or two.  This is one such site (http://shitthatsirisays.tumblr.com/).

But there is so much more. Say, if you are in desparate need of caffine, normally you’ve gotta type that in ( which itself is a big task ). BUt now, just say “SIRI, find me coffee” and Bang!
SIRI is not something new, It started out as an experiment at DARPA and now is the largest AI(artificial Intelligence) project ever !. It was then introduced as an APP on the Iphone ( remember ‘Dragon Naturally Speaking’ ?). Finally Apple bought the whole product in April ‘10.
For obvious reasons SIRI is still in its ‘beta’ stage and APPLE assures it will work to get rid of the ‘odd non-working’ tendency. Also trying to improve the analysis part of it more effective. The users say that they really like how they feel like they can have a nice conversation with their device.
SIRI is impressive but still a work in progress. For guys like me, wait for IPhone 5 and get one (hopefully with 4G also included)

the Uncertainty

I was at a Blink 182 concert last weekend. They were my teen idols and the demy gods in my ‘Rebel – phase ‘. The concert was a blast, I screamed I jumped; it felt like I was a teenager again. I am 23 which it’s not too old but certainly not a kid for sure.

I am currently in a phase of life filled with anxiety, a bit of fear of the future and in whole a lot of uncertainly. I very well know that this is the case with many people of my age.

I am grateful that I graduated in time and secured a job right after. I consider myself fortunate, but a lot of things still run in my head. Is this job the right one? Can I hold onto this job? Is the path right? What if I have to relocate? Am I spending too much rather than saving? Lot of questions about tomorrow.

Sometimes I ask myself if it’s worth all the effort. I am from India and working in US away from all my loved ones. I really ask if career is worth leaving them and being here among all these tensions, alone.  Most of the times the answer is YES. I have to do justice to my degree and my parent’s dreams.

A lot of people can connect to this at some stage of their lives. Something I have realized and should learn to implement is just to struggle through every day and give it your best shot. I get disheartened sometimes at work wondering about the various ‘what –ifs ‘. It is not the best use of time which I should control more.  I do not expect for this phase to be over soon. Stability is not over rated. It is something that every guy in my shoes will die for. Everything is worth doing to gain some peace of mind.

Tribute to a Visionary

It is a shock that is till sinking in for many of us.
Only a day ago everyone were talking about the Iphone 4s and hours from that the creator of the revolution is no more.
Steve jobs was someone who made people love their gadgets. His motivation was always the end user and not the chips inside the machine.
I am an admirer of Steve jobs and honestly the competition between Gates and Apple brought our technology to where it is now.
He achieved all this in 30 years ... another 20 more and who knows what would have happened.
A whole generation pays tribute to a visionary a leader and an innovator.
Apple wont stop nor will this technological expansion, but we always should be indebted to the services of this pioneer.

Rest in Peace Steve.

The Apple Madness

Apple does bring a lot of Buzz with anything associated with it. From Steve jobs quitting to Mr.Cook’s persona as the next Mughal in the industry, APPLE INC. has always been a talking point.

Yesterday was no different. A big moment came n went past leaving lot of Apple fanatics a bit disappointed. I admit I am not their biggest fan (though I own a Mac n an iTouch ), but I was also very much looking forward to yesterdays keynote. As it turned out they certainly have added a few things but it did not create a spur as the Iphone 4 did.

As one of my good friend said, how much more exciting can it get. That phone is fully loaded. The new feature though in its Beta version is a revelation. Though SIRI’s performance will determine its usability and longevity the idea is fantastic. Yes, the voice recognition feature is present in many Android phones, I use it in mine too. But it is very limited in its usage. SIRI is breaking a lot of boundaries and I am very much looking forward to using it (maybe on a friend’s IPhone 4s haha).

Also, I feel the design IPhone 4 has and what IPhone 4S has carried forward with it is probably their best design ever.  It does not surprise me that they wanted to stick to it and not give it a makeover an year after its huge groundbreaking success.

Though I was a little disappointed that they did not upgrade it to become a 4G compatible phone and a few other issues, I would not call the new phone a disappointment yet. As many users out there the release date (Oct 14 in US) will be one to look forward to.

Little things

Hey!

I never told many ppl but I do write songs/poems sometimes to let my feelings ...

This is my favorite ...

We all think..
that in time those little things are long ago forsaken
But believe me my friend...
A ticket for our whole life is what they have taken.

Those few little things that we left behind...
from our past are sure to unwind.
They were either lost in a book...
saved in a drawer or stuck in a nook.

Always like a spy,
they hide behind these walls eyeing.
They get what they desire..
You are at their mercy, everyday dying
They make us wander... make us cry
When you have no one near… to watch you close by

Hope u like it :)

Everything happens for Good

Its been an Year since i wrote my last blog.

A lot has happened, a lot has changed .. I have changed.

For a change I am not searching for happiness but just being content.

I am not going to write a big philosophical lecture on how to live life because honestly i just started learning myself.

I was in an abyss last year and sometimes we need to go all the way down to get the motivation to rise up.

It was honestly the best thing that had ever happened to me.

I love my best friend for this. Her punishment was in time my biggest boon.

What I have learnt is life is a lesson and you can only make yourself better adapted everyday.

Also, the toughest times will make u realize who your greatest friends are.

I have a very few but as it goes a few diamonds are always precious than a pot of mud.
